Accomodation

Visitor information

In Pavia there are eight university colleges (student dormitories), where participants will find accommodation at a cheap price. The colleges are located in the city centre and close to the venue of the Colloquium.
Colleges will provide for about 250 beds (single and double rooms). Breakfast is included in the price and is provided as a buffet.
Allocations to the colleges will be based on availability at the time of reservation, thus remember to reserve your room in time. All reservations or cancellations can only be made through the organizing committee.
Remember that the accommodation fee is not included in the registration fee. The total accommodation fee should be paid in advance (see registration form). Extra services (phone calls, minibar etc.) should be paid directly to the college office.
All accommodations, includinig one to four stars hotels, bed & breakfast, holiday farms and camping sites are listed here. Reservations must be made directly to those by each participant.

Transportations

By plane: Milan, the nearest city is served by three airports, Milano Malpensa, Milano Linate and Bergamo (Orio al Serio). Linate and Malpensa are about 40 km and 70 km from Pavia, Orio al Serio is a little bit more distant, about 90 km. There are regular train services from Linate and Malpensa to Pavia
By train: from Milan to Pavia (direct, no change, about 30 min.). There is train every about 30 mins, from 6 am to 00.10 pm. Cost is about 3 euros. From any other city you will have to change in Milano. You can get more details and buy ticket online at: http://www.trenitalia.com/
The train station in Pavia is near (about 10min walk) to the Congress venue.

Car rentals are available in all the above mentioned Italian localities, but it is better to make reservations well in advance.

Please remember to communicate your dates of arrival and departure on the registration form in order to plan your accommodation.


Ecofriendly

  • In the registration form is included a voluntary Carbon fee (10 €) which will be used to support carefully chosen projects reducing the impact of carbon emissions from human activities. Further details will be provided as soon as possible.
